BIOGRAPHY

Steven Michael Melley was born in Rhinebeck and attended Red Hook public schools, followed by Colgate University where he graduated with honors. After Tulane University Law School, Steve took and passed the New York bar exam and began as an associate in private practice locally with Woody Klose in Red Hook. In 1983 he started this law firm and limited his practice to injury law - representing seriously injured adults, children, seniors in all manner of cases. He has successfully practiced in state and federal courts ever since in and around the Hudson Valley, from Manhattan to Albany principally in Dutchess, Ulster and surrounding counties; and occasionally out of state on an individual case basis.

Community Involvement and “Giving Back”:

For nearly thirty years, Steve has awarded over $125,000 in “law studies scholarships” and more recently the S.Sgt. John Melley Military Scholarships to graduating seniors from Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Germantown, Pine Plains high schools who aspire to a career in law or who enlist to serve in the armed forces of the United States or Coast Guard.

Family Life:

Steve resides in Millbrook, NY. He has four grown children and four grandchildren who he loves to spend time with. Steve enjoys golf, casino blackjack and professional sporting events. Most of all he likes driving his Maserati.
